Dear PCA families, staff, alumni, and friends,
Prayer News for the Hearing on PCA’s Zoning at 245 Renfrew
The hearing on the appeal against our zoning by-law amendment for the 245 Renfrew site has gone on for eight days, and there are five more days to go. Behind the legal battle of this world is a spiritual battle. To win this battle, we have to pray consistently and fervently. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 6:12)
We are assured of our victory when we pray because our Risen Saviour has told us: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” (Matthew 28:18) Let us pray together for the will of the Lord to prevail over both the spiritual realm and the court room. Please pray for the following:

- All parties in the court room will see the glory of the Lord – lawyers and experts representing Emery, the Town of Markham, and Pinedale. They will know that one day we all have to give an account to the righteous Judge, our Lord Jesus, for what we have said and done.
- All the experts and lawyers will approach the issues they raise (noise, traffic, parking, and land planning) in a reasonable and professional manner, to resolve issues and to come to a consensus.
- The Ontario Municipal Board (“OMB”) will hear with discernment, to determine what is relevant and important, and to guide the parties to find solutions to the issues.
- The OMB will understand our urgency and be willing to grant an expedited decision in 4 to 6 weeks.
- We ourselves (PCA parents, students, staff, and alumni) will align our hearts with our Lord to see the importance of the PCA ministry in raising up a God-fearing generation. On this basis, we can trust God in providing a place for PCA’s long-term operation and leave the results of the hearing to Him who works all things “for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
