Dear Parents,

For parents who think Christian school is like a cocoon or bubble that over protects our children, here’s a sharing of a PCA graduate:

Testimony
As a former student at PCA, I was privileged to spend 13 years of my life at this school. It was during my junior high & high school years that my faith was challenged and solidified through my experiences at PCA. Entering high school, I had the opportunity to go to a local public high school. I was faced with three major dilemmas. First of all was the financial burden that a private school placed on my parents. However, thanks to God's provision, this was taken care of. Secondly, PCA did not have the same amount of physical resources as most public high schools. However, the tight knit community of PCA allowed me to participate more in athletics and build a general fellowship with my classmates and teammates. Thirdly, a private Christian school was like a bubble that protected you. As a student at PCA, I did not have to face as many 'temptations' as many public schools. For example: drugs, sex, and swearing. Yes, there were 'temptations' but to a lesser degree as they were not tolerated. So the question was, when I entered into university, would my life change or how would I adapt? I felt that I adapted well, I was not used to the increase in profanity around me, but the novelty wore off. Now in my first year of graduate school at Queen's University, I believe the local Christian community and fellowships have allowed me to retain the Christian 'bubble', but I also have exposures to the secular world. More importantly, I have discovered my role as God’s servant. With the strong foundation that I built at PCA, I am able to learn about life one aspect at a time without falling hard.

Thank you PCA for training our children to be able to stand up for their faith and not be weary.

The year end celebration for elementary school is coming up soon. Please watch out your children’s take home sheet next week for details. This year on top of the regulars, we will even have Whimz live animals and PCA merchandise. Make sure you bring your camera (especially if your children like creepy crawly creatures) and money! High School parents, students and staffs, feel free to drop by on Jun 23 around noon. If you plan to sell/buy your used books, this is the day to do so. More information will be out next week.

Praise the Lord, the number of prayer warrior teams has now grown to 10. Remember, if you can spare maybe half an hour a week to pray for the school, please send us your info, and we’ll email you a prayer list on the regular basis. Summer vacation is near, but God never takes time off. When we are all relaxing and enjoying our holidays, remember there are always people still working hard to move our school forward. They will need our prayer support.
