PCA Responds to Haiti Crisis
In the wake of the Haiti earthquake disaster our school administrators threw out the challenge to the entire student body to contribute to a PCA Haiti project. The fund would enable Christian workers to offer relief to the many displaced and homeless Haitians. The response was both immediate and overwhelming. Within a couple of days the fund grew to in excess of $7300. Coupled with the Canadian Government's dollar-for-dollar matching program, it means that over $14,600 will reach the distressed nation from the students of PCA. The monies will be channeled through World Relief Canada, an agency which works primarily with Christian churches. A cheque has already gone to the agency which is already engaged in distribution projects on the ground in Haiti. Thank you to everyone who participated in this project of compassion. With the Lord's help we expect to continue to respond to requests for assistance from the people who are required to rebuild their lives from nothing. |
