April 2, 2010 ISSUE # 6
Dear parents, Here’s a challenge to today’s parents. Do you really know what your children are doing on the computer every day? Testimony Last night, I was reading some of the postings on Facebook, and I was so shocked to read some of the inappropriate languages used by young people these days. Considering that it’s a public way of communication - everybody could read it, but they didn’t seem to care, it’s just everyday language for them. Pop cultures infiltrate young people polluting their thoughts and deeds, and the more I think about it, the more I am convinced that Christian education is important as a safeguard and for building respectable characters. I’m not boasting about my child, but when she and her friends talk, they do encourage each other and share words of wisdom. I’m really proud of her and her friends at PCA. Technology is moving at a pace that we seem to lose control or hard to keep up with. It brings convenience and efficiency, yet it also exposes not just our children, but also us to a whole new world of sins and temptations. We need to learn how to exercise self control and stay pure. We want our children to know right from wrong, hang out with the right peer, and speak words of blessing and not curse, for ”… the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean’” Matthew 15:18. The hearing of the rezoning appeal is scheduled for April 7 2010. Please pray hard for the appeal to be dismissed. Also, the PAC wants to initiate the formation of Prayer Partners and invite all parents to team up with someone, so we can gather together, over the phone, at church, at school, or at work, and pray whenever you get a chance at your convenience. This can even be done by teaming up with your children and spouse, so that we may have fellowship at home. We are sure that this is going to be time well spent than just sitting in front of the computer or TV, or texting the night away. If you need help in forming prayer groups, please email us at pac (at) pca (dot) ca and indicate on your email your preferences of language, day and time of prayer, and we will try our best to team you up. For this is what Jesus has promised us, “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." Matthew 18:20. Remember this, don’t worry, don’t quit and don’t doubt. Just keep praying persistently and positively, for God will always answer in His time. Did You Know PCA has an on site IT specialist that helps classes to resolve computer issues right away.
